Campos Mijangos Cuauhtli Successfully Defends Doctoral Thesis on Interactive Paper Displays

Cuau, as he is called by his peers, is reported to have delivered the most fun thesis defense so far.

We are thrilled to announce the successful defense of Campos Mijangos Cuauhtli’s doctoral thesis, titled “Designing Interactive Paper Displays by Interlacing Physical and Digital Content Using Horizontal Touchscreen.” Campos, a student of the doctoral study program in Computer Science at UP FAMNIT, has demonstrated creativity, ingenuity, and dedication throughout his academic journey.

Under the mentorship of Assoc. Prof. Klen Čopič Pucihar, PhD, and co-mentorship of Assoc. Prof. Matjaž Kljun, PhD, Campos embarked on an exploration into interactive paper displays. His research endeavors aimed to bridge the gap between physical and digital content, leveraging horizontal touchscreen technology to create immersive and intuitive user experiences.

The defense, which took place on Friday, April 26, 2024, at 9:00 and was followed by an interactive exhibit of his prototypes.

As we reflect on Campos Mijangos Cuauhtli’s achievements, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to him for this momentous accomplishment. His groundbreaking work exemplifies the spirit of innovation and excellence that defines our academic community at HICUP Lab.

We are confident that Campos’s research will continue to inspire future generations of scholars and practitioners in the field of interactive display technologies. His dedication and vision serve as a testament to the transformative power of interdisciplinary research and creative exploration.
