HICUP Lab Mentors Featured and Recognised at end of 2021

Two faculty mentors in the HICUP Lab research group made headlines as the year 2021 drew to a close.

According to Elsevier, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marko Tkalčič is one of the most frequently cited scientists. From a database of more than 100,000 top scientists, Dr. Tklačič occupies high places on the scale for evaluating research performance and scientific publications – a recognition reserved only to the top 2% of the best scientists. Marko joins the ranks of 165 other scientists from Slovenia based on a single year impact scale for most frequently cited authors in 2020. He is joined by other UP FAMNIT and UP IAM scientists. Assist. Prof. Dr. Vida Groznik featured in media outlets and presentations. In the talk show HealthDaySI, the future of personalised medicine, open science and clinical genomics and health data became an open topic as Dr Vida Groznik served as one of the guest speakers interviewed. The episode was aired last 21 December 2021. Dr Vida Groznik also joined a panel debate organised by SME Europe a week before that. SME Europe is an organisation that operates for the rights of small and medium-sized enterprises in most of its areas. It serves as a forum that focuses on the priorities towards developing better legislation for SME’s throughout Europe.
