HCI SI Conference 2025

The Human-Computer Interaction Slovenia conference (HCI SI 2025) took place on the 13th of October at UP FAMNIT. The event was organized by the HICUP Lab together with the Slovenian HCI community (ACM Chapter Bled) and brought together HCI researchers and professionals from academia and industry across the Alps-Danube-Adriatic region.

The keynote speaker was Prof. Dr. Jürgen Ziegler, a senior full professor in the Faculty of Computer Science at the University of Duisburg-Essen, where he is conducting research in the field of Intelligent Interactive Systems. In his keynote lecture titled ‘Bridging the Gulf of Uncertainty in Intelligent Interactive Systems’, Prof. Dr. Ziegler discussed how intelligent systems create uncertainty in user experiences and presented user-centered strategies to address it.

This year, 17 papers were accepted after a review phase and presented at the conference. The papers covered a wide range of domains, including music, politics, chess, autonomous vehicles, mobile games, 3D graphics, robots, 3D modeling, and many other areas related to human-computer interaction. All accepted papers from the conference will be published in the official proceedings. Around 30 participants joined the event. Students and professors who submitted papers and participated came from the following institutions:

  • University of Primorska, Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Information Technologies (FAMNIT)
  • University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Computer and Information Science (FRI)
  • University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FE)
  • University of Maribor, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (FERI)
  • Jožef Stefan Institute (IJS)

In between the main paper presentation sessions, several demo sessions also took place, allowing participants to showcase prototypes, interactive systems, and ongoing research work.
