Marko Tkalčič Delivered a Tutorial at SIGIR 2025

At this year’s ACM SIGIR Conference on Research and Development in Information Retrieval, held in Padua, HICUP Lab member Marko Tkalčič, together with Markus Schedl from Johannes Kepler University Linz and Elisabeth Lex from Graz University of Technology, contributed by delivering a tutorial titled Psychological Aspects in Retrieval and Recommendation.

The tutorial introduced how psychological theories can provide a foundation for advancing information retrieval and recommender systems. It explored how concepts from psychology can support the design of systems that better model user needs, behaviors, and decision-making, ultimately improving personalization and relevance.
