Radar is increasingly relevant for HCI because it enables robust, contactless, and privacy-preserving interaction without requiring direct touch or camera-based line-of-sight. This opens new possibilities for interaction in wearables, smart environments, automotive interfaces, sensing through materials, deformable objects, and other everyday contexts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The volume introduces the foundations of radar sensing for HCI, discusses radar signal representations and digital signal-processing tools, reviews publicly available datasets, and presents emerging applications such as gesture recognition on deformable objects, surface interaction sensing, and mid-air handwriting.
