During the 22nd UP Ceremonial Academy, held on 21 March 2025, Prof. Dr. Marko Tkal\u010di\u010d received the UP Gold Plaque for 2024, following the nomination by UP FAMNIT and UP IAM. The award recognizes his contribution to the development and visibility of the university in the field of intelligent systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Tkal\u010di\u010d earned his PhD in 2011 at the University of Ljubljana and has been employed at UP since 2019. His research focuses on user modeling and recommender systems, with an emphasis on psychological models. He has contributed to international conferences such as UMAP<\/a>, RecSys<\/a>, and IUI<\/a>, and serves on the editorial board of the UMUAI <\/a>journal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is the coordinator of the Master\u2019s programme in Data Science at UP FAMNIT and the chair of the Commission for Quality Assurance of Doctoral Studies. He is also the co-author of two books and actively supports the development of academic publishing and research in his field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
