We hosted Gianmarco Cherchi<\/a>, a Computer Science Researcher and Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Cagliari <\/a>(Italy), where he obtained his PhD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His research interests are in Computer Graphics and Geometry Processing, focusing on the generation and optimization of surface and volumetric meshes, and Digital Fabrication. He is also teaching “Data Visualization” (Applied Computer Science and Data Analytics BSc) and “Web Programming” (Computer Science BSc) courses at the University of Cagliari. In 2024, he received the “Young Investigator Award 2024,<\/a>” granted by the Shape Modeling International Organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On February 17, 2025, during his visit to the HICUP Lab, he delivered a seminar on “Interactive and Robust Mesh Booleans”. He also held an intensive course in Data Visualisation. Some of his thoughts are also available on the FAMNIT web page<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n
